Grown in the highlands of Kayanza—right on the edge of the Ruvubu National Forest—this coffee is shaped by its natural surroundings: cool air, clean water, and rich volcanic soil. It’s washed and processed at the Bwayi mill, and sourced by Jeanine Niyonzima-Aroian, a Burundi native working to elevate the quality of life for farmers in the region.
Beyond just great coffee, this is a story of community. Jeanine’s model offers producers a second bonus payment after harvest, reinvested into school fees, supplies, and upgrades for farms and mills. More than half a million dollars have gone back into these communitiesn making every sip mean a little more.
The cup? Think creamy and vibrant. You’ll catch lemon meringue and a hint of sweet potato. Push the roast just a touch darker and it leans into warm carrot cake and chocolate. Cozy, clean, and quietly complex.
NOTES: Lemon Meringue, Sweet Potato, Carrot Cake, Chocolate
